Avandia (Rosiglitazone) Recall

In 2007, the FDA issued warnings in the treatment of type 2 diabetes with Avandia. They said patients were at higher risk for developing or worsening cardiovascular complications. They required GlaxoSmithKline to print black box warnings on the Avandia boxes to alert patients and doctors to the risks of taking Avandia. With all of the issued warnings, complications and associated injuries, the FDA has yet to issue a recall on Avandia.
